Empower the next generation
The Digital Academy aims to empower this next generation by providing an overview of what REMEDi4ALL partners consider to be the most important parts of a successful drug repurposing project. REMEDi4ALL defines a successful repurposing project as one that looks beyond great and interesting scientific publications and focuses on an ultimate end goal of delivering a product to patients in clinic.
Piloting the Digital Academy
The first iteration of the Digital Academy provides some initial guidance and connections to existing key resources alongside some tips and tricks to get started on your Route to Repurposing. The site as you see it now is in a pilot phase. We would love to receive any and all feedback before we start promoting the Digital Academy in early 2025.

How the Digital Academy is structured
Core Modules
Our Core Modules cover the key steps of the scientific pathway associated with drug repurposing. While traditionally these steps are completed one after the other, our Core Modules suggest when in your project timeline to consider thinking about each aspect, with some steps overlapping. Approaching your project like this helps for the maximise the chance of success in producing a drug that will be used in clinic.
Foundation Modules
Our Foundation Modules create a solid base on which to build your drug repurposing project. These modules encourage you to think beyond the scientific process of your project. Foundation Modules explore other factors that are crucial, but often overlooked, and can help maximise your chance of success in producing a drug that will be used in clinic.
“Patients are the driving force behind any repurposing project”
Drug repurposing represents an opportunity to develop meaningful treatments for some of the most under-served populations. Remembering that this is the goal throughout your project helps guide decision-making and improve chances of success. Patient insight and experience can and should be considered at each and every stage of a project.
Our future
The Digital Academy will continue to be developed and updated throughout the REMEDi4ALL project, adding and amending information as the drug development landscape changes and the repurposing community grows. We plan to develop more graphical, video and interactive content as well as providing more in-depth guidance along key stages of the Route to Repurposing. Registered users will be alerted when major changes are made to modules of your interest.
We envisage that the final version of the Digital Academy will provide a step-by-step guide to successful drug repurposing for anyone who is interested in or already embedded in the field.
